Hazardous Waste Worker Training Program, Military Initiative
Under the HWWTP, CCCHST instructors, prepared and supported by National Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (NPETE)'s Train-the-Trainer Program, train students, workers, and supervisors to protect themselves and their communities from exposure to hazardous materials encountered during hazardous waste site cleanup, Brownfields redevelopment, transportation of hazardous materials, and response to spills and releases of hazardous materials. New programming includes Health and Safety job training for: To participate in these courses, you MUST provide ONE of the following forms of verification:
- Proof of qualified active-duty service member status
- Proof of current military family member status (DoD ID card required)
- Proof of veteran status with an honorable discharge noted on Form DD-214

NOTE: All classes require a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 40 students.

Due to a policy change at OSHA’s Office of Training and Education (OTE), our OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) is no longer able to offer OSHA numbered courses (e.g. - OSHA #510, OSHA #511, OSHA #2015, etc.) via virtual instructor-led training (VILT) to students outside of the Kansas City Region (Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa). Barton Community College is a member of the Great Plains OSHA Education Center Consortium.

Please note, there are course minimums for enrollment and confirmation of registration is not confirmed until those minimums have been met.
